Mrs Faye Drake

SENCO and Year 4 Teacher

I have been a teacher at Lanivet since 2020 and embrace the diversity that school life brings. As a teacher, I love to share my passion and enthusiasm for new learning by creating cross curricular lessons that create excitement, curiosity and discovery about the world we live. I strive for children to feel happy and safe at school so they are able to thrive and achieve. When I’m not at school, I spend time exploring different destinations with my family and making precious memories.
I love to read and listen to books which are full of adventure, mystery and discovery so I can use my imagination and be taken into a magical world of wonder.

Ms Heidi Bowden

Reception Class Teacher

I joined the team at Lanivet in 2022, after teaching at another local primary school for 5 years. I am passionate about creating a fun, safe and engaging learning environment whilst encouraging pupils to develop their independence. I enjoy sharing my love for learning with the children using a cross curricular approach. When I’m not at school I enjoy spending time with my own young children, spending lots of time outdoors exploring and going on coastal walks. My family and I particularly enjoy snuggling together and reading a good book. We all love the Julia Donaldson books, rhyming books and funny books written by David Walliams. As a family, we enjoy sharing the stories we have read and recommending recent books to others so that they can also enjoy the exciting written adventures. I hope you love reading as much as I do.

Miss Emily Howard

Year 1 Teacher

This will be my first full year at Lanivet School as a teacher, after completing a placement here while training as well as a maternity cover last year. I have a real passion for ensuring that school is a safe, caring and supportive environment for all children. I enjoy teaching all subjects but especially Music and PE. When I am not at school, I love to take my dog for a walk, exploring new places as much as possible!
I love to read a book in the evenings before bed, as this helps my mind to relax and turn off. I especially like reading a Roald Dahl book, as they capture me and make me want to read the whole book in an evening.

Miss Samantha Haworth

Year 2 Teacher

I joined the team at Lanivet in 2019, after teaching at two other local primary schools. I have had the pleasure of growing up in the village and attended Lanivet Primary myself. I thoroughly enjoyed my time as a child and have many fond memories. These fond memories are the reason I became a teacher, I looked back at my teachers, and I realised the impact they had on my learning journey. I love to create a happy, safe and fun environment where children grow, are happy and enjoy learning. When I’m not at school, I spend my time exploring Cornwall with my two spaniels, enjoying my family and friend time.

Reading to me is about getting lost in another world. I love reading a good page turner and enjoying a book so much you don’t want to put it down. Two of my all-time favourites are James and the Giant Peach and George’s Marvellous Medicine and I also love the author, Sophie Kinsella.

Mr Mike Heard

Year 3 Teacher

Mr Heard has a Marine Geography degree from Cardiff University. He achieved qualified teacher status through the SCITT programme. He has been teaching at Lanivet School many years. Before that, he lived and worked in Taiwan for ten years teaching English.

Mr Heard leads Modern Foreign Languages and English for the school.

Mrs Stacey Liddicoat

Year 4 Teacher

I joined the team at Lanivet in 2018, after teaching at another local primary school for 9 years. Fostering a love of learning and ensuring all the children in my class are happy at school are my main aims as a teacher. I enjoy teaching in a cross curricular way to allow children to make links and deepen their understanding of our topics. When I’m not at school, I spend lots of time exploring Cornwall with my family; I especially enjoy going to the beach or cycling along the Camel Trail.

For me, reading is one of my favourite ways to relax. Even now as an adult, some of my favourite books are the Harry Potter stories by JK Rowling; I love getting lost in their magical adventures and comparing their school days to ours!

Miss Georgina Winter-Baker

School Administrator

I originally started my career at Lanivet Primary School in September 2017 as an apprentice Teaching Assistant. I went on to obtain my Level 2 and 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.

After I completed my apprenticeship, I was a qualified Level 3 TA for one year before an opportunity arose to apply for the School Secretary role. I was lucky to have experience in the school office during the pandemic, and I previously studied and qualified in BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma Systems and Principles for IT Professionals. As a result, I was successful in my application for the Secretary position.

I went to Lanivet School as a child and my family have been living in Lanivet for multiple generations. I am very proud to have grown up in Lanivet and I am fortunate that I also get to work within this fantastic community.

When I'm not in school I enjoy spending time with my family, watching films and reading a good book! My favourite book from my childhood was Disney's Beauty and the Beast, as I loved the meaning behind the story.
